Gertrude E.( Hatch ) McGovern, 90, died at the Greenwood Nursing & Rehab Center, Wakefield Sunday after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Boston, she had lived in Melrose from the mid 1930's until 1969, from 1969 to 1995 she resided in Plainville, MA, then moved back to Melrose until she passed away. Gertrude, at onetime had been active in the Highland Congregation Church Guild. She was the wife of the late Alton L. Kittridge and the late Thomas J. McGovern. Mother of David A. Kittridge of Melrose, Peter J. Kittridge of Nashua, NH, and the late Lois Bassett. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral Services wil be held in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Sat Dec 29 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to the funeral service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment wil be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
