Gertrude M. Quinn died after a long illness at home April 10th at the age of 91. She was born in Melrose, raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School, Melrose High School Class of 1929 and Boston College Class of 1949. Gertrude worked as a claims representative for Social Security Administration in Cambridge and Malden offices for over 30yrs. She was a lifelong resident of Melrose, a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church, a member of St. Mary's Ladies Sodality and the Catholic Women's Club. Gertrude volunteered at Melrose Wakefield Hospital and Hospice Care Inc. in Stoneham for several years. She was the daughter of the late Dennis & Catherine (Keohane) Quinn. Sister of the late Eileen F. Quinn, Catharine M. Quinn and Sister Mary A. Quinn R.C.E. Also survived by many loving friends & caregivers. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday April 12th at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St. Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held Friday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery Stoneham. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
