Giuseppe V. Polce passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday, November 14, 2013. He was 83 years of age. Giuseppe was born and raised in Italy and came to the United Stated in 1956. He lived in the North End of Boston until 1972 when he moved to Everett and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 17 years. Mr. Polce worked as a precision grinder at the Quartzite Processing Company for 35 years, retiring in 1996. Giuseppe enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, Arizona, the Caribbean and California and visiting family in Canada and Italy. He was a member of the Club Italia in Malden where he loved playing poker with the guys. Mr. Polce was the beloved husband of Florence C. (Curreri) Polce. Loving father of John Polce of CA and Claudia Bertoli & her husband Leonard of Melrose. Proud grandfather of James & Krysta Bertoli and Giovanna Polce. Devoted brother of Vincenzo Polce & his wife Rosemarie, Lucia D'Addario & her husband Rinaldo all of Canada, Annapia Serafini & her huband Francesco of Italy and the late Guerino Polce as well as several other deceased brothers & sisters. Uncle of John & Annemarie Polce, also survived by numerous other loving nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday, Nov. 18th, at 10:15AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 11:15AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-6:00PM. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
