Gloria G. Burns, 76, died at Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Bangor, Maine and raised in Somerville, she was a graduate of Somerville High.Gloria was a longtime Melrose resident, who moved to Englewood Fl in 1990 and then to Seabrook NH in 2000. She was a homemaker and member of the Sgt Harold O. Young Post #2394 VFW and past President of Ladies Auxiliary of the Post #2394 VFW. Gloria was the wife of Joseph L.Burns of Seabrook NH. Mother of Mrs Wendy E. Davis of Haverhill, Nancy J. Gaskill of Malden , Joseph J. Burns & his wife Gail of Malden, Mrs Patrice A. Hickey & her husband Timothy of Salem NH. and Thomas F. Burns of Medford. Grandmother of Nicole, Amanda, Lauren, Janine, Mikayla and Emily. Great grandmother of Sarah Klayman. Sister of Mrs Patricia Higgins of Medford. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St, Melrose on Wednesday July 27 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
