Gloria C. (Federico) DeStefano passed away at her home in Melrose, on April 16, 2007, she was 77 years of age. Gloria was born in Maine, raised in Rumford Maine & the North End of Boston and graduated from Girls High School, Class of 1947. Mrs. DeStefano has been a resident of Melrose for the past 51 years. She was a homemaker, had worked as a bookkeeper in Boston prior to raising her family and was involved in Blue Birds & Boy Scouts. Gloria was a longtime member of St. Marys Church, where she taught CCD for several years. She loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing scrabble. Mrs. DeStefano was the wife of Pasquale F. Pat DeStefano. Mother of Patrick & his wife Susan of Centerville, James & his late wife MaryAnn of Everett, Thomas, Kenneth & his wife Jackie and Maria DeStefano all of Melrose. Sister of Daniel & James Federico both of Melrose & the late Virginia Federico & Angelo Fererico. Grandmother of Danielle, Loryn, Jonathan, Kyra, Kyle & Diana. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, April 20th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited.
