Grace M. (Sargent) Gillis, of Meredith, NH, formerly of Melrose, died suddenly at the Lakes Region Hospital in Laconia, NH on June 5, 2013 at the age of 82. Grace was born in Jersey City, NJ, raised in Cambridge and a graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School. She resided in Melrose from 1968-1985 and the past 28 years in Meredith, NH. Grace worked as an accountant for Cerretani's Supermarket in Melrose and Lechmere Dept. Store for over 20 years. She was a member of the Center Harbor Congregational Church in Center Harbor, NH. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Gillis, Sr. Loving mother of Raymond A. Gillis, Jr. & his wife Joan of Melrose and the late Matthew R. Gillis & his wife Janice of Nashua, NH. Cherished grandmother of Shawn & his wife Kristina, Michael, Christopher, Ryan and Jacqueline. Sister of Maryann Dugan of Medford and the late John & James Sargent. Also survived by many beloved nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, June 8th at 12:00PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11AM-12PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
