Harold O. Swanson passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was 87 years of age. Harold was born in Boston, raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran serving in Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe and was awarded the bronze star for his dedicated service to his country. After WWII Harold attended the Tilton Academy in NH. Mr. Swanson worked as a bank examiner for the State of Massachusetts for over 25 years. He was a lifelong resident of Malden, enjoyed working around the house doing odd jobs and yard work, he loved his animals and traveling with his late wife Jeanne. Harold also enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Arlington Lake in Salem, NH. Mr. Swanson was the loving husband of the late M. Jeanne (Herald) Swanson. Son of the late Carl & Jennie (Carlson) Swanson. Brother of the late Clifford Swanson. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews & friends. A graveside service will be held at Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest St. Malden, on Thurs. May 20th at 11AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
