Helen P. (McCormack) Cobb of Melrose passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2007. She was 72 years old. Born on January 5, 1935 in Boston, MA to James A. McCormack & Margaret M. (ODonnell) McCormack, she was raised in Roxbury until the age of 15 and then moved to Malden. She graduated from Cathedral High School of Boston in 1952 and moved to Melrose in 1961 and was a resident of Melrose for 46 years. Mrs. Cobb worked as a receptionist with Berman & Son Real Estate of Boston for 6 years and later with New England Telephone as a telephone operator for 10 years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, movies, her social life and was a 24-year survivor of breast cancer! Helen was the devoted wife of Gerald E. Cobb, with whom they shared 49 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Maureen F. Arsenault & her husband Kevin of NH, Susan M. Pezzano & her husband John of Melrose & Deborah A. Lucey & her husband Robert of Billerica. Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Jennifer, & Robert Lucy, III, Keri-ann & Christopher Arsenault, Peter & Daniel Pezzano. Caring sister of Margaret T. McCormack of Malden, James A. McCormack & his wife Antonia of AZ & Neil J. McCormack of Malden. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wed. Sept. 5th at 8AM.
