Helen M. (Tierney) DeCoste passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on May 4, 2006. At the age of 75. She was the daughter of the late John A. & Ethel (Duffy) Tierney. Helen was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1949 and was a lifelong resident. Helen enjoyed being a homemaker, had worked for a few years at Boston Safe Deposit Bank in Boston and helped her husband with the DeCoste Landscaping Company of Melrose & Lynnfield. Mrs. DeCoste was a longtime member of St. Marys Church in Melrose and enjoyed knitting. Helen was the wife of 48 years to the late Paul DeCoste. Sister of Msgr. James E. Tierney of Boston and the late John A. Tierney. Sister-in-law of Virginia Tierney of Salem, NH. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday May 8th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
