Helen F. (Harkins) Hubbard, of Reading , formerly of Melrose, died at the E. N. Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford on March 23, 2005 at the age of 83. Helen was born in Charlestown, raised in Revere and graduated from Immaculate Conception in Revere. She was in the Womens Army Corp during WWII and was a Melrose resident for over 50 years. Helen worked as a bookkeeper for her families retail carpet business, A.J. Hubbard & Son Inc. in Medford for 30 years. She was the beloved wife of Arthur J. Hubbard Sr of Reading. Loving mother of Maryann Barisano & her husband Richard of Reading, Arthur J. Hubbard Jr & his wife Shirley of Wakefield, and Raymond J. Hubbard & his wife Sally of PA. Devoted sister of Patricia DiBella & her late husband William of Wakefield, Neil Harkins & his late wife Margaret of Andover, Barbara Perrotti & her husband Ted of Melrose and the late Mary ODowd. Cherished grandmother of Kristin, Cathy, Rick, Adam, Molly and Michael. Caring great grandmother of Christopher, Tyler and Ashlyn. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday March 29th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Patricks Church 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM.
