Obituary

Helen A. Munro passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. She was 96 years of age. Born in Malden to the late John & Elizabeth (Blaney) Munro, she was raised in Melrose, attended Melrose schools and has been a lifelong resident of Melrose. Helen worked as a cake decorator for Stop & Shop Bakery in Dorchester for over 30 years. She enjoyed shopping for clothes, her trips to Foxwoods, watching the Red Sox and attending Mass at Arch Street in Boston. Helen loved to spend time with her family, was very generous and has been a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. She was the devoted sister of Jessie Bickford of Melrose & the late Margaret Rutyna, Isabel Weaver, Ornetta Burton & John Munro. Loving aunt of Betty Magnuson & her husband John of Wakefield, Bob Burton & his wife Doris of Charlotte, NC. as well as numerous other loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Fri. May 15th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11AM. Family & friends respectfully invited. Visitation Friday morning from 9:30-10:30. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
