Helen M. (Dennis) Riley died peacefully, in the company of her loving family, due to complications from Parkinsons Disease, on August 30th, she was 73. Helen was born in Somerville, raised in Somerville & Medford and graduated from Medford High School. Mrs. Riley was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she worked for the New England Telephone Co. as a clerk in the 911 division for over 20 years. Helen has been a resident of Melrose for the past 44 years, she was a member of the Mothers of Twins Club, the NE Telephone Pioneers, Incarnation & St. Marys Church and the People Living with Parkinsons Group in Winchester. Mrs. Riley was the wife of the late William P. Riley. Mother of the late William P. Riley Jr. & his surviving wife Janet of Middleton, Sheila Vetere & her husband Joe of Melrose, Daniel Riley & his wife Corinne of NH, Christine Wofsey & her husband Russ of Malden, Colleen DeCecca & her husband Dave of Winchester, Terrance Riley & his wife Tina of Billerica and Brian Riley & his wife Ellen of Wakefield. Sister of Mary Dennis & Daniel Dennis both of Medford and the late John, Walter, Joseph & William Dennis. Sister-in-law of Sally Smilgis and the late Claire Murphy & John Riley. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. Sept. 3rd at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
