Helen M. (Nista) Rosenthal, of Melrose, formerly of Florida, passed away at home on March 17, 2022 at the age of 101. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Rosenthal. Loving mother of John Matarazzo of Winchester, Marianne Matarazzo of Melrose and Linda Matarazzo & her husband Geoff Brown of Melrose. Longtime companion of the late Stuart "Pat" Cummings. Grandmother of John Matarazzo, Christine Elow, Michael Matarazzo, Brad Matarazzo and Heather Lourie. Great grandmother of Justin Elow, Jordan Elow and Mia Matarazzo. Sister-in-law of the late Marion Nista Morrison and Naomi Rosenthal. Also survived by relatives & many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 4-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions may be made in Helen's name to the charity of your choice.
