Helen T (Driscoll), Johnson Thibedeau, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Dec. 20, 2008 at the age of 78. Helen was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and a graduate of St. Mary's high School, Class of 1946. She was a homemaker who resided in Melrose for most of her life and was a member of St. Mary's Church for many years. Helen was a former member of the Saugus VFW & the Ladies Auxiliary. She was self-sufficient with a get up and do it attitude. Helen was the beloved wife of the late John Johnson & the late John Thibedeau. Loving mother of Eileen Jacobson & her husband Donald of Danvers, Stephen Johnson of CA, John Johnson & his wife Joy and Diane Diamond & her husband Eric, all of NH. Caring sister of Mary Rossetti & her late husband Tony of Swampscott and the late Bob Driscoll & his wife Kathleen of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Matt, Kim, Kris, Aislinn, Tom, Daniel, Sean and Connor. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Dec. 23rd at 10AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:30AM.
