Helen M. (Delory) Williams passed away at the Meredith Bay Colony Club in Meredith, NH on September 30, 2014. She was 99 years of age. Helen was born in Saugus on April 15, 1915 to the late William & Josephine (Mitchell) Delory. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High school and has been a lifelong resident. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friends to many. Prior to raising her family she worked at Transitron in Melrose and at Grant's Department Store in Melrose. She was a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Guild. She kept in touch with all of her B&M Railroad Girls throughout her life. Helen spent many summers at Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire and also enjoyed her winters in Fort Myers, Florida to visit her daughters. Mrs. Williams liked to play cards, crochet, bowling and made many afghans and towels for her large extended family over the years. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed rooting her team on. But most of all her family was the most important part of her life. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Williams for 52 years. Loving mother of Tim Williams & his wife Ginger of Monroe, NH, Jean Whitty & her husband James of FL & PEI, Patricia Ackermann & her husband Al of Amherst, NH, Elizabeth Brown & her late husband Albert Sr., formerly of Melrose, and Marie Smith & her husband Ed of Melrose. Caring sister of Paul Delory & his wife Carol of CA and the late Lillian Evans, Rita Etsel and William Delory, Jr. Cherished grandmother of Susan Mattheson, Linda Desmond, Tim Williams Jr., Kathy Flammia, Marilyn Clarke, Michael Whitty, Tania Burke, Alan Ackermann, Kevin Brown, Tim Brown, Elizabeth, Matthew, Brian & Stephen Smith and the late Keith Ackermann & Albert Brown Jr. Also survived by several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Oct. 7th at 8:45AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Helen's memory to Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.
