Hollis L. Restall passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on May 22, 2007, he was 78. Mr. Restall was born and raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1948 and attended Fryeburg Academy. Hollis has been a lifelong resident of Melrose and worked for the City of Melrose Parks Department for over 30 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Restall loved sports, the Red Sox, photography and traveling. Hollis always looked forward to his trips to California to visit his sister, nieces & nephew. Hollis was a member of the VFW Harold OYoung Post # 2394 in Melrose, the Melrose Elks, Melrose YMCA, Wakefield Retired Mens Club, AARP, Wyoming Lodge of Masons, St. Marys Church and the Holy Name Society. Mr. Restall was the son of the late Henry & Margaret (Buck) Restall. Loving brother of Barbara Horne & her husband Robert of Laguna Niguel, CA. Caring uncle of Heidi Bouchard & Hollis Shobe both of CA and Robert Horne of CO. Also survived by many grand nieces, grand nephews & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. May 30th, at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-5PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
