Ines (Della Cioppa) Caruso passed away suddenly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. She was 82 years of age. Ines was born in Bellona, Italy on July 1, 1927 to the late Antonio & Orsola (Martino) Della Cioppa. Ines was raised in Italy and was a school teacher before moving to the United States in 1948. Mrs. Caruso lived in Everett until 1961 when she married Don Michele Caruso and moved to Malden. She has been a resident of Malden for the past 49 years. Ines was a homemaker, a very respectful and humble person and devoted to her faith. She loved to spend time with family & friends and was loved by all who knew her. Ines was the loving wife of 50 years to Don Michele Caruso (Owner of Caruso's Pizzeria in Melrose). Daughter of the late Antonio & Orsola ( Martino) Della Cioppa. Sister of Nina DiFilippo of Everett, Amelia Nicolella of Italy and the late Carmela Salerno, Angeline DeAmelia, Rose LoGuidice, John Choppa, Pasqualino Della Cioppa & Isodoro Della Cioppa. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews from Boston, Albany, NY and Italy. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, January 18th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in Ines honor will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4-8PM.
