Obituary

Irene I. (Levesque) Michaud, 88, of Chicopee, formerly of Melrose, died on Monday, October 6th, at the Heritage Hall North Nursing Home in Agawam, MA at the age of 88. Mrs. Michaud was born on June 27, 1915 in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Arsene and Clara (Trahan) Levesque. She was the wife of the late Teddy J. Michaud to whom she was married for 55 years. Irene was raised in Fall River & Amesbury, she lived in Malden for several years, Melrose for 25 years and the past few years in Chicopee. Irene worked as a waitress at Pete's Donuts in Everett for many years and worked as a homemaker for several residents in the Melrose area. She was on the Residence Council at Heritage Hall Nursing Home as well as the welcoming committee. Irene is survived by her daughter, Lorraine M. Loiselle of Southampton, MA, wife of the late Raymond L. Loiselle; and her son, Dr. Norm T. Michaud and his wife, Patricia, of Southbury, Ct and Brewster, MA; five grandchildren: William Canning, Susan Canning-Major, Nancy Brown, Robert Michaud, and Marc Michaud; and nine great-grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster Street, Melrose, MA on Thursday, October 9th, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. followed by the celebration of a funeral Mass at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St. in Wakefield, MA at 11AM. Burial will be at the Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
