John F. Jack Logan, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on April 22, 2006 at the age of 53. Jack was born in South Boston, raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of English High School, Class of 1970. He worked as a Corrections Officer at Deer Island & South Bay Correctional Facility for over 20 years as a Sargent until his retirement in 2000. Jack resided in Melrose and was a member of St. Marys Church for many years. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Spadafora) Logan for 30 years. Loving father of David J. Logan and his fiance Sara of Conway, Jonathan A. Logan of Amherst and Anthony D. Logan of Melrose. Devoted son of Vincent & Julia (Connors) Logan of Brant Rock, MA. Cherished brother of William, Walter Sonny, Richard and Patrick Logan, Mildred Kane, Anmarie Dackers, Shirley Duggan, Ellen Falconer and Julie Buckley. Caring son in law of Dante Moose Spadafora. Devoted nephew of Dorothy Foley. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday April 26th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
