Jacqueline F. (Moran) Joyce came into this world on Memorial Day on May 30, 1929 and passed away at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington on Memorial Day on May 25, 2015. She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Joyce was born in Revere, was raised in Revere, and graduated from St. Rose High School in Chelsea before marrying her husband Captain Robert F. Joyce Jr., US Army. She lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Formosa (Taiwan) with her husband Bob and son Robert III and on other US military bases in the United States before settling in Melrose in 1968. Jacqueline worked as a bookkeeper for many years for a construction equipment company and a fuel company for many years. Mrs. Joyce lived a wide and extensive life, enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Europe many times with her groups of friends over her lifetime. Jacqueline loved spending time at Revere Beach and Hampton Beach, enjoyed bocce, cards, bowling, Irish music and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Captain Robert F. Joyce US Army. Loving mother of Robert F. Joyce Jr. & his wife Donna of Tewksbury. Devoted grandmother of Robert F. Joyce III & his girlfriend Meghan Maloney of Tewksbury, Sean R. Joyce & his wife Jillian of Lowell and Michael R. Joyce of Tewksbury. Caring sister of the late Jean Foster & her late Husband Paul. Cherished cousin of Jean Doherty of Quincy. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews & friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, May 29th from 4:00-8:00PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30th at 7:45AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 660 Washington Ave. Revere, at 9:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.
