James J. Babineau died in Largo Fl after a brief illness. Born and raised in Somerville, he was a longtime resident. Jim attended Somerville High, served in the Army during WW II, and was a City of Somerville employee until he retired in the early 1980's. During the 1970's he was president of the Somerville Municiple Employees Asociation. After retiring he moved to Florida until he passed away. Jim was the husband of Gloria Babineau and the late Mary (White ) Babineau. Father of James J. Babineau Jr & his wife MaryAnne of Melrose, Patricia Blair of Wakefield and Darryl D. Babineau of Chicago. Grandfather of Sandra, Julianne, Andrea, Jeanine, Nicole and Mary Babineau, Kristina & Casey Blair and Kaylee Babineau. Great grandfather of Brianna Babineau. Brother of Raymond of PA and the late Kenneth Babineau and the late Ruth Rouleau. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, on Sat Oct 20 at11 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
