James P. Bramante passed away at the Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose, on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was 83 years of age. Born in Boston on July 10, 1925 to the late Francesco & Maria (Motta) Bramante, he was raised in Boston and graduated from high school in Boston. After high school, he joined the US Navy and served for several years during WWII. James worked as a truck driver for McLean Trucking in Waltham for over 35 years, never taking a sick day. Mr. Bramante was a resident of Melrose for over 50 years, he enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending summers at Long Beach in Gloucester for many years. Jim was an avid reader, a member of the Sons of Italy in Melrose and a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. He is survived by his wife Mary L. (Limone) Bramante. Brother of Mary Costanto of Boston, Connie Mirisola of Braintree, Domenica Sicari of Somerville, Rose Pagliarulo of Melrose and the late Domenic & Salvatore Bramante. Brother-in-law of Concetta Athanas, Rose Balestieri, Lena Fortunato, Carmella Scott, Helen Palano all of Melrose, Rosario Limone of Boston & Peter Limone of Medford. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday March 31st at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8PM.
