Obituary

James Cargill "Jim" 61, of Malden, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2013, and is now in heaven with the Lord, where we believe he has a healthy body and is free to ride his motorcycle, paint till his hearts content, play horseshoes with Chick, and fish all he wants. Jim was born September 16, 1952 and grew up in Melrose; he attended Melrose High School where he excelled in track. He also attended and graduated Butera School of Art, in Boston, as well as the Massachusetts College of Art. He was a talented artist and a loving man who loved to ride, drive, paint, sculpt, cook, eat, smoke, fish, gamble, play poker, and bid 45 at Newfound Lake. He loved his family and would do anything for his sisters. He was loved by many including his late mother, Beverly (Runge) Cargill, his late father, Edwin Cargill, his late brother, Eddie Cargill and late sister, Joanne Cargill. He is survived by his loving wife Helen (O'Donnell) Cargill of Malden, his beloved son, James Paul Cargill, of New Bedford, his beloved daughter, Jennifer Cargill Cunningham of Melrose, and son-in-law, John W. Cunningham, Jr., his beloved grandchildren, Alicia Marie Cunningham, Daniel Jacob Cunningham and Zachary James Cunningham all of Melrose, and he is survived by his lifelong best friend, Steven Turcotte, of Florida. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Ernest Cargill and his spouse, Rae of Colorado, Robert Cargill and his spouse Daphine of Melrose, Donald Cargill and his spouse Patti of Wilmington, Maureen Lucey and her spouse Mike of Malden, Janet Miller and her spouse Joe of Rowley, Beverly Cargill of Revere, Denice Greski and her spouse Rick of Melrose, Lawrence Cargill of Melrose, Dorothy Pinkham and her spouse Kevin of Lynn, John Cargill of Malden,. He is also survived by his beloved mother-in-law, Alberta O'Donnell, of Melrose, brother-in-laws, George O'Donnell, Johnny O'Donnell, Dickie O'Donnell and Neil O'Donnell; sister-in-laws, Donna O'Donnell, Patsy O'Donnell, Linda O'Donnell, Donna Paradiso, MaryAnn O'Donnell Also survived by many aunts & uncles and many, many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4:00-8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Malden Church of the Nazarene, 529 Eastern Avenue Malden, on Wednesday December 4th @10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
