Obituary

James "Jim" Carozza, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born to Alexander and Barbara Carozza (both deceased) of Malden. Jim will be remembered for his boundless spirit and love for life.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of eight years, Jeanmarie Cataldo, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He was the proud and loving father of Marilyn Faulkner (Carozza) and her husband, Joshua Faulkner, as well as the cherished grandfather to their daughter, Cecilia. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Deanna Belanger (Tibbetts) and her husband, Joe; Sean Tibbetts and his wife, Serena; and Kevin Tibbetts and his wife, Melinda. Jim adored his role as "Grandpa" to Gavin Tibbetts, Connor and Claire Belanger, and Alan and Paul Tibbetts.

Jim was also a beloved brother to Robert Carozza and his wife, Karen, of Peabody, and Linda and Dimitri Christoforidis of Malden. His family circle extended far and wide, and he held many nieces, nephews, and close friends dear to his heart.

A graduate of Malden High School, class of 1978, Jim went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in 1983. Afterward, he embarked on a distinguished career at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston, serving as a law enforcement officer. Upon his retirement in 2013, Jim followed his passion for boating, founding Shark Bait Adventures, where he captained his own boat.

Jim's zest for life was evident in all that he did. He loved riding motorcycles, scuba diving, restoring vintage cars, attending concerts, and traveling. His happiest moments were spent on his boat, "Out of Control," cruising Lake Winnipesaukee with family and friends. Known for his lively spirit, Jim brought joy to everyone around him, sharing his love for the water and life's little adventures.

Jim was also an active member of several organizations, including the New England Aquarium Dive Club, Fraternal Order of Police, Harley-Davidson HOGs Boston, and the Laconia Elks Lodge.

Jim's warmth, adventurous nature, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of living life fully and love for those close to him, will carry on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Jimmy's name to The Ronald McDonald House or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
