James L. Diozzi, of Saugus, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on March 30, 2015 at the age of 74. Jim was born & raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1959. He resided in Somerville, Malden & Medford for several years and the past 37 years in Saugus. Jimmy worked & was very proud of being a Plumbing & Gas Inspector for N. Andover, Melrose and N. Reading for 20 years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Woburn Knights of Columbus and enjoyed cars, good food, going for long drives with his wife Barbara and Elvis Presley music. Jimmy was a kind, generous, funny, playful jokester and his children & grandchildren were the most important part of his life. Jim was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Doherty) Diozzi for 41 years. Loving father of Robert Diozzi & his wife Maureen of Natick, James Diozzi & his wife Susan, Joseph Diozzi & his wife Carrie and Jason Diozzi & his wife Natalie, all of Saugus. Caring brother of the late Robert Diozzi & his wife Hannah of Salem. Special cousin of Yvonne Tuck of Framingham and Carolyn Smith of Stoneham. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Thursday, April 2nd from 4:00-7:00PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Friday, April 3rd at 8:45AM, followed by a Blessing at Blessed Sacrament Church, 16 Summer St., Saugus at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
