James R. Dooley, Sr. of Melrose, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the North Shore Medical Center of Salem. He was 63 years old. Born on July 21, 1944 in Everett, Massachusetts to the late Louis E. & Ruth F. (Pitts) Dooley. Jimmy was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, class of 1963. He worked as an ironworker for Local 7 Ironworkers for 35 years. Mr. Dooley loved his wife, children & his grandchildren, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, buying t-shirts at all Harley Davidson stores and was proud to be an ironworker. He was a member of the 5-2 Club of Chelsea and the East Side Athletics Association. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Barbara M. (Tiberi) Dooley, a loving father of Kim A. Rigolini of Everett, Tricia A. Dooley & Maeghan M. Dooley, both of Melrose & the late James R. Dooley, Jr. Cherished grandfather of James R. Dooley, III, Paul J. & Robert C. Forlizzi. Caring brother of Maureen A. Falite & her husband Frank of Billerica, David C. Dooley & his late wife Paula of Peabody, Sissy E. Liston of Everett, Kathleen J. Dell Isola & her husband Stephen of Topsfield, Helen E. Barnacle & her husband Thomas of Methuen & the late Louis E. Dooley, Jr. & his wife Linda of Everett. Brother-in-law of Patricia Palermo & her husband Salvatore of Beverly, Guido J. Tiberi, Jr. & his wife Denise of Malden & Louis J. Tiberi & his wife Carol of Uxbridge. Special son-in-law of Florence Tiberi. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Mon. June 2nd at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Sun. 2-6PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
