James J. Monahan Jr. passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on November 25, 2013. He was 69 years of age. James was born in Boston on August 11, 1944, was raised in Lynn & Peabody and graduated from Peabody High school. Mr. Monahan was a longtime resident of Peabody before moving to Revere over 15 years ago. He worked in the maintenance department for the state of Massachusetts for many years and part-time at the Marlboro Country Club. James was an avid golfer, was a big Red Sox & Patriots fan and enjoyed going to his granddaughter's dance recitals and his grandsons sporting events. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Cerretani & her husband Gerry of Peabody. Grandfather of Allison J. & Joshua R. Cerretani. Brother of Sharon Perry of Idaho & Susan Klotz of West Boylston. Loving uncle of Mark & Sean Klotz and Nathan Snow. Also survived by several grand nieces and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. on Friday, November 29th from 10:00-11:00AM, followed by a service at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends are invited to attend.
