It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of James Gerrard Morrissey, a cherished member of the Somerville, MA and Inniscarra County Cork communities. James passed away unexpectedly on Monday April 18th, 2023, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and kindness.

Although James was predeceased by his daughter Shannon, dad Daniel, sister Noirin, and ex-wife Nicole, his memory lives on through his sons Paul, Ryan, and Daniel, his mother Teresa Morrissey, his four sisters, one brother, his devoted partner Nettie, his extended family, and countless friends who were touched by his generosity and warmth.

To honor his life and memory, a viewing will be held at the Gately Funeral home in Melrose on Saturday April 29th, 2023 from 11am to 1pm, followed by a service. We invite all who knew and loved James to pay their respects and celebrate his life together.

James will be remembered for his unwavering love and loyalty to those close to him, his infectious smile, and his big heart that touched the lives of many. May his spirit live on in the memories and love he shared with all who knew him.
