James E. Murray of Malden, MA, formerly of Portland, Maine, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Golden Living Center of Melrose, MA. He was 80 years old. Born on February 13, 1927 in Concord, NH to the late Henry R. & Margaret Murray, he was raised in Concord and attended Casco Bay College. He fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a lighthouse keeper with the United States Coast Guard for 20 years after his service in the Navy during WWII. He lived in Portland, ME for 37 years and worked as a custodian with the United States Postal Service in the Portland Main Post office. He was known as "Hollywood Jim" in the post office because he loved to sing. He was even given a lighthouse statue at his retirement party with a plaque "Hollywood Jim". He was a long time member of the American Legion of Portland. Jim was the devoted husband of 36 years to Leonora G. (Guerrero) Murray, loving stepfather of Dulce Q.
