James J. "Jimmy" Welford, of Revere, formerly of Everett, died with his family by his side at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on March 8, 2014 at the age of 67. Jimmy was born in Malden, raised in Everett and a graduate of Everett Vocational High School, Class of 1965. He served his country with pride in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. Jimmy worked as a Fork Lift Operator for Marshall's Warehouse in Woburn for over 35 years and loved working there. He was a lifelong Everett resident, enjoyed going to Foxwoods and was an avid Boston sports & Patriots fan. Jimmy was the beloved son of the late George W. & Mary C. (Conroy) Welford. Caring brother of Rose Ciulla & her husband Thomas of Melrose, John T. Welford & his late wife Kris, Catherine T. Welford, all of Revere and the late George W. Welford, Jr. Also survived by his nephew Thomas J. Ciulla, III of Melrose. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, March 14th from 8:30 -10:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St., Melrose at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
