James M."Jim" Zorbas of Melrose died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his home. He was 64 years old. Born on November 30, 1947, he was one of six children of the late Arthur C. & Anne M. (Smole) Zorbas. He was a lifelong resident of Melrose, a 1965 graduate of Melrose High School and a 1970 graduate of Northeastern University. Mr. Zorbas worked at Fleet Bank for six years, Hub Floral for five years and finally as a film booker for Buena Vista Film Distributors for twenty years before his retirement. Jim was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, trivia and was a computer pioneer. James loved all the New England Sports Teams, volunteered for the WGBH Channel 2 Telephone Auction and the TCP Golf Tournament. He was the caring brother of John Zorbas & his wife Janet of Roslindale, Mary Lacourciere & her husband Paul of Chicago, Rosann Zorbas of Hampton, NH , Jerry Zorbas of Chelsea & the late Joseph C. Zorbas. Uncle of Aviana Zorbas of Revere & George Zorbas of Hollywood, FL. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, May 31st at 9AM.
