Jane Frances (Zins) Keegan passed away peacefully at home on Monday April 5, 2010. She was 75 years of age. Jane was born in Melrose on September 9, 1934 to the late William & Anna (Cronin) Zins. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar & St. Mary's High School and has been a lifelong resident. Mrs. Keegan worked as a lunch mother for many years at the Beebe Elementary School in Melrose and then as a pharmacy technician at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for over 10 years. Jane was a devoted wife & mother who cherished the times spent with her family. She was a member of TOPS where she had many wonderful friends. Jane enjoyed swimming at the Melrose YMCA, enjoyed going for a ride to the beach or out to lunch and loved her trips to Hampton Beach in NH, Myrtle Beach in SC and Boothbay Harbor in Maine. Beloved wife of 49 years to Arthur J. Keegan. Loving mother of Kevin M. Keegan of Boothbay Harbor, ME and Bonnie Jane Curtis & her husband Wil of N. Reading. Sister of the late Dorothy Crane. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Saturday, April 10th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in Jane's memory at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
