Janet S. (Sweet) Connors, of Melrose, died on Friday, July 24, 2009 at her home after a short illness. She was 75 years old. Born on October 8, 1933 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, to the late Nathaniel & Anna "Mildred" (Ward) Sweet, she was raised in Chelmsford and a 1951 graduate of Chelmsford High School. Janet received her teaching degree from Lowell State Teacher's College in 1955 and her 1st Master's degree from Northeastern University & 2nd Masters from Leslie University. Mrs. Connors worked as a Special Education Teacher in the Goodyear School of the Woburn Public Schools System for 36 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, golfing, traveling and skiing. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter A. Connors, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Lawrence N. Connors of Boston & his fiance Amanda Woll & Ann C. Connors of South Boston. Caring sister of Mark Sweet & his wife Julie of S. Windsor, CT, Nancy Keeffe & her husband George of Andover, Patricia Sweet & Louise Sweet, both of N. Chelmsford & the late Robert Sweet. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from The Gately Funeral Home 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 29th at 9AM.
