Janet M. (Quagenti) Leuci, of Saugus, formerly of Revere, passed away on November 20, 2013 after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Leuci was the devoted wife of William, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. Daughter of the late Angelo and Catherine (Fala) Quagenti; sister of the late Joseph B. Quagenti. Adored mother of William J., Christopher and Kristen, David and Tara, and Peter and Jessica. Mother-in-law of Michelle. Dedicated grandmother to nine beautiful children: Jacqueline, Sophia, Drew, Dominic, Paige, Gavin, Charles, Alexandra Janet, and Samantha Grace. Her grandchildren were "her gifts from God". Janet leaves behind many other loving family members. She was born in Boston, raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School, Class of 1959. Janet received her undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1963 and a Master's degree from Middlebury College in 1965. A former foreign language teacher at Woburn High School, Boston College, Harvard College, Malden Catholic High School, and Revere High School. Janet served admirably for 22 years as a Town Meeting Member in Saugus as well as serving on the Saugus Planning Board and many other committees, advocating for the citizens of Saugus. Her tireless efforts for the town and residents were recognized by her being awarded Saugus' Woman of the Year in 2005. A woman of deep faith, Janet was well respected in the Catholic community and loved "her" Incarnation Parish. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janet's funeral on Monday, November 25th at 10AM at the Incarnation Parish, 429 Upham Street, Melrose, MA. Visiting hours are Sunday, November 24th at the Incarnation Parish from 2PM-6PM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
