Jean F. (Nagle) Berner, of Melrose, died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on April 22, 2019. She was 89 years of age. Jean was born in Medford, raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. Mrs. Berner was a dedicated wife and mother to her four daughters and has been a resident of Melrose for over 60 years. She loved to read, was a big fan of Lifetime Movies and loved spending time with her family on the beach in Nahant. Jean also loved taking care of her two grandchildren.
Mrs. Berner was the beloved wife of the late Erwin W. "Ed" Berner. Loving mother of Suzanne Berner of Chelsea, Lisa Larcom & her husband Michael of Danvers, Kathleen A. Berner of Melrose and the late Deborah J. Berner. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan & Natalie Larcom. Caring sister of Richard Nagle & his wife Mary of Nahant, the late James Nagle & his wife Eleanor of Lynnfield. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday, April 28, 2019 From 2:00-5:00PM. Funeral procession from Gately Funeral Home on Monday morning April 29th at 9:00AM. Followed by at Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose at 10:00AM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
