Jean Kitty Marie (Murphy) Das, of Peabody, died at the Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village in Peabody on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the age of 86. Jean was born & raised in Braintree, England and a graduate of the London School of Economics and Columbia University, and a former librarian in the Queens (New York) Library. She was a member of the National Audubon Society for many years. Jean resided in Great Neck, NY for 36 years, Salem for 12 years, the past 4 years in Peabody and wintered in Bradenton, Fl for 20 years. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Kamleshwar Das. Loving mother of Shyam Das & his wife Kathleen Miller of PA, Kamala Das & her husband Tim Grice of England, Raj Das & his wife Ann of Melrose and the late Arun Das & his wife Richela of CO. Cherished grandmother of Sarah Das & her husband Andy Kurtz, Jason Das, Tom & Kitty Grice, Alex Das, Chris & Steve Das, Samantha Doepken and Bree Miller. Caring great grandmother of Lizzie and Rachel. Sister of the late Pat Stephenson. A memorial service will be held at the Brooksby Village Chapel in the Macintosh Building, Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, MA 01960 on Saturday Feb. 12th at 2PM Relatives & friends invited.
