Jean (Hazelton) Linehan, of Melrose, died on Sept. 19, 2014 surrounded by her family at the age of 81. Jean was born in Chelsea, raised in Winthrop, a graduate of Mount St. Joseph's Academy & Chandler School for Women, both in Boston. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Northeast Airlines for several years before raising her family. Jean resided in Winthrop until the age of 29, East Boston for 5 years and Melrose for the past 45 years. She was a member & Eucharistic Minister for the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose for 45 years and also a member of the Florence Crittenton League adoption agency. Jean was an avid reader, excellent cook and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She loved to dance and spend her time with her children and grandchildren. Jean was the beloved wife of the late William T. Linehan for 48 years. Loving mother of Susan M. Sauls & her husband Ryan of N. Andover, Kenneth W. Linehan & his wife Susan of Derry, NH, Christina M. LaRock & her husband Jean-Daniel of Melrose and Melissa J. Cunningham & her husband Robert, also of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Emily, Jake, Ava, Matthew, Sheilagh, Patrick, Lily, Abby & Callista. Caring sister of Judith Nappi & her husband Armando of FL, Karen Turley & her husband Lance of NH and the late Arlene Nappi. Sister-in-law of Margo Buckley of Lowell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday, Sept. 22nd at 9:45AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
