Obituary

Jean Rose Sullivan, the founder of Bel Tempo, the well-loved fine paper and gift stores in the financial district and Back Bay of Boston, died on Saturday October 7, 2006 after a lengthy and courageous battle with leukemia. Jean was featured on Chronicle and recognized by several important stationery and gift companies such as William Arthur and Vera Bradley for her exceptional retailing. Jean was an avid tennis player and an advocate of the game. As a member of the Boston Athletic Club womens team she was instrumental in developing junior tennis programs in the greater Boston area. A long-time member of the Bellevue Country Club, she was a guiding force in developing the clubs childrens tennis programs. A graduate of Northeastern University and Revere High School, Jean is survived by her loving daughters, Kristin Paton of Cambridge and Nancy Krupinsky of Newton and her devoted son-in-law Scott B. Paton. Nanny Duck, as she was known by her grand children Eliza, Myles and Honor Paton was a loving and giving grandmother, an avid traveler and a gourmet cook.Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., MELROSE, on Friday October 13th, at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose, at 10 AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday, October 12 from 4-8 PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
