Jean E. Zajac, of Melrose, died at the Life Care Center of Stoneham on August 29, 2005 at the age of 84. Jean was born in Somerville, raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School Class of 1939. She lived in Melrose since 1957 and was an active member of St. Marys Church, and many of St. Marys organizations including the Ladies Sodality, St. Marys Choir and Prayer Group. Jean was also a member of the Thursday Fort Nightly Womens Club in Medford, the Silver Singles and the Maranatha Prayer Group in Everett. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Ellis Tool & Die Co. in Malden for 18 years until her retirement. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Zajac. Loving mother of Barbara E. Zajac of IN, Peter L. Zajac & his wife Mal of Tewksbury, Stephen J. Zajac, Jeffrey W. Zajac & his wife Jackie all of Melrose. Sister of Frances James of PA, Robert McNeill of FL & the late Roger McNeill. Grandmother of Kara, Kristy, Jocelyn and Jamie. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Sept. 2nd at 10:15AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:15AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 4-9PM.
