Jeremiah P. "Jerry" O' Regan Sr., of Melrose, died at the Mass. General Hospital on July 23, 2011 at the age of 74. Jerry was born & raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1956. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army and resided in Melrose for 39 years. Jerry worked as a Sprinkler Fitter for the Local 550 Union in Boston for over 36 years. Mr. O' Regan was an avid Red Sox, Celtics & Patriots fan, attending spring training in Ft. Myers, Florida for many years. Jerry was a season ticket holder for the Boston College Eagles for 20 years. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Chadbourne) O' Regan. Loving father of Jerry O'Regan Jr. of Melrose, Timothy O'Regan of Washington, D.C., Bonnie O'Regan & her husband Keith Andrews of Chelmsford and Thomas O'Regan of Danvers. Caring brother of 9 siblings and 5 deceased siblings. Also survived by 1 brother in law, 1 sister in law, 1 deceased brother in law and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 27th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry's name to Mass.
