In 1970 they moved to Melrose and enjoyed life in the suburbs. Joan picked up tennis, even tried her hand at health and wellness and opened Slimcerely Yours; clearly ahead of the times! All while supporting Phil's restaurant business and many nights found herself the face of Cafe Granada in Malden welcoming guests to their seats.
The kids went off to college and
Joan decided to re-enter the work force and became an Executive Assistant at Polaroid. Her welcoming smile and genuine caring personality made her a regular stop for all those around her.
Unfortunately the early passing of Phil changed the path she was on and Joan was faced with the challenge of life as a widow.. far to young.
Joan's work took on a far more important role. She eventually landed at CBRE New England and commuted daily into down town Boston She was the face of the company and greeted everyone as they arrived. Joan was beloved by all and treated everyone as if they were family. Joan retired just three years ago at the young age of 80!
During these years Joan always treasured her time w friends. Whether it was a weekend in Rockport w Gen and Frank, or short trips to Kennebunkport and Ogunquit w Carol and Pat; dinner with coworkers, and visits with her kids, Joan would be smiling and in her element. Joan loved people!
