Joan A. (Fuchs) Hardway passed away at home, on January 5, 2006, she was 69 years of age. Joan was born in Somerville, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1955. Mrs. Hardway lived in Melrose most of her life and the past 4 years with her daughter in Westford. Joan was assistant city clerk in Melrose for 5 years and worked at the Melrose Credit Union for several years. Joan was a devoted mother & grandmother, a former member of Incarnation Church in Melrose and enjoyed knitting & gardening. She was the loving mother of Richard L. Hardway & his wife Mary of Merrimac, Brian D. Hardway & his wife Christine of Tampa FL and Patricia L. Parece & her husband David of Westford. Beloved sister of Jacqueline Kelly of Melrose, Janice Scibelli of Georgetown and the late Constance Kayes. Devoted grandmother of Paige, Albert, Eric, Emma, Erin & Christopher. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. Jan. 10th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited.
