Joan Marie (Sheridan) Ross of Melrose passed away on Saturday, January 27th, 2007 at the Winchester Hospital. She was 72 years old. Born and raised in Melrose to the late Joseph & Marie (Festa) Sheridan, she was a 1952 graduate of Melrose High School. She was hired by local attorney Jerry Cook as an administrative assistant and worked for the Cook & Bell Law Office for over 20 years. Mrs. Ross loved her three children, knitting, crossword and picture puzzles, traveling, their home in Middleton, NH and driving the family boat on Lake Winnipesaukee while doing figure eights at full throttle. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots & Bruins on television. Joan was the devoted wife of Kenneth W. Ross, Jr. Loving mother of Martin J. Ross & his wife Barbara of W. Pittsfield, David K. Ross of Acton & Pamela E. Ross also of Acton. Caring sister of Barbara Morrison & her husband Daniel of Melrose, Marie Copp & her husband Hank of Melrose, Richard Sheridan of Nashua, NH, Charles Sheridan & his wife Louise of Melrose, James Sheridan & his wife Kathy of Danvers, Joseph Sheridan of Raymond, NH, Robert Sheridan & his wife Jean of Melrose & Sandra Crowley & her husband Joel of Melrose. Sister-in-law of Marion Perry & her husband Cliff of Wakefield. Funeral in The First Baptist Church 561 Main St. Melrose on Tues. Jan.30 at 11AM. Family & friends invited.
