Joan Marie (O'Hare) Santos passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Feb. 10th at the age of 63. Joan was born and raised in Cambridge, graduated from Cambridge Latin High School, lived in Cambridge for 30 years and Melrose the past 30yrs. She worked as a teller at Melrose Savings Bank for several years, as payroll clerk at City Hall in Melrose for 10 years and then as office manager for her husband's company, Freeman Carder Co. of Waltham since 1986. Joan was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. She was the wife of Louis D. Santos. Mother of Joseph J. Santos of Melrose, Patricia A. Sletterink & her husband Roy of Reading and Sharon L. Santos of Melrose. Sister of Patricia Arruda of Cambridge. Grandmother of Andrew Santos & Daniel Sletterink. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, Feb. 13th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-9PM.
