Joan S. (Stevens) Wedge, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died at her home on Nov. 17, 2007 at the age 74. Joan was born & raised in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. She worked as a waitress for the Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus for over 42 years before retiring in 2003. Joan enjoyed going to Foxwoods Casino with her family & friends, going shopping with her girls and loved to travel to Aruba and Barbados. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Wedge for 55 years. Loving mother of Donna R. Murray & her husband Paul of Malden, Sharon L. Brancato & her husband Joseph of Winthrop, Robert G. Wedge & his wife Sharon McGough of Everett and the late Stephen R. Wedge. Devoted grandmother of Paul, Kimberly, Carissa, Robert, Krista, Nicholas, Alexander and Tyler. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Daughter of the late Earl & Ester (Williams) Stevens. Cherished granddaughter of the late Arthur & Mildred Dryer. Caring daughter in law of the late Lillian Nana Ma Wedge. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday Nov. 21st at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited.
