Joanne C. (Enos) Barrett passed away at home on March 23rd, she was 63. Joanne was born in Malden, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School and Salem State College. She lived in Melrose most of her life and the last 24 years in Woburn. Mrs. Barrett worked as a financial officer in the Biology Department at MIT in Boston for 18 years. She enjoyed cooking and was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. Joanne was the mother of Margaret Tonnessen of NH, Michael Barrett of Melrose, Donna Petti of Tewksbury and Diane Barrett of Woburn. Daughter of Margaret (Dwyer) Enos of N.Andover and the late James B. Enos. Sister of James Enos of Andover, Richard Enos of ME and Diane Rideout of Melrose. Former wife of George E. 'Butch' Barrett. Grandmother of Diane, Samantha, Mark, Derek, Ryan & Justin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. March 27th at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
