John Matthew Brissette of Lynn, formerly of Melrose, died surrounded by family & friends on March 21, 2016 after a long illness. He was 54. John was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School in 1980. John was the beloved son of Nancy (Ryder) Brissette and the late David Brissette. He was the caring brother of Suzanne & Vince Doria, Marianne & John Parker, Julianne & Ron Porter, Stephen & Roni Brissette, Joseph Brissette, and Christianne & Peter Chetkin; proud and much loved uncle of 17 nieces & nephews. John will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose 9:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
