John R. "Jack" Bucci, of Medford, formerly of Melrose, passed away surrounded by his beloved family on February 1st, 2022, at the age of 81. Jack was born in Medford, MA on November 22, 1940, to the late Vincent and Mary (Sweeney) Bucci. He is survived by his sister Francis Williams and his brother Vincent Bucci and their families. He was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School.
Jack worked in local 6 (Pipe covers union) much of his adult life and was very active until weeks before he passed away. He had a unique personality and was loved by so many friends that he had lifelong friendships with. He enjoyed socializing and going on trips and out to dinner with many of these friends throughout the years.
Jack especially loved his time spent in Naples, Florida. He loved the warm weather and escaping the cold. He was an avid fisherman, and he knew when the gulf waters were the warmest, and that's when he loved to swim in them the most. He loved sharing his love of Naples with his family and friends. He also loved photography and taking beautiful pictures of nature as he was out exploring.
Most of all Jack loved spending time with his loving wife, Beverly. They liked to travel, walk on the beach, and took spontaneous road trips. The activity they loved the most was going out to eat and socializing with friends.
Jack was so proud of his daughters, Susanne and Laurene and all their accomplishments. He loved spending time with them when they were young, taking them to 40 Steps Beach in Nahant and sharing his love of the outdoors with them. When they grew up, Jack loved Susanne's husband Jim and Laurene's husband Pat like they were his own sons. He was also very proud of his grandchildren, and he loved all his treasured time with the five of them: Jimmy, Robert, Nicholas, Alexandra and Joseph.
The best way for us to sum up Jack's life is that he "did it his way."
