John A. "Jack" Cerretani, Jr. of Malden, formerly of Melrose, died suddenly Monday, December 27, 2010 at his home. He was only 58 years old. Born January 9, 1952 in Stoneham, a son to John A. Sr. & Marianna (Galvin) Cerretani, he was raised in Melrose and a 1970 graduate of Melrose High School. Jack worked in the Human Resources Department at the family owned Cerretani's Supermarket in Revere for 15 years. Later, he worked as a supervisor with Continental Airlines for 20 years. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces & nephews, always helped people who needed it the most and supported his family of friends at Club 24 in Malden. Cherished son of John A. Sr. & Marianna T. (Galvin) Cerretani of Stoneham, loving father of Gianpaolo Cerretani of Revere, former husband of Virginia (McCauley) Cerretani, also of Revere, caring brother of Paul V. Cerretani of Salem, Gerry Cerretani & his wife Lisa of Peabody, Thomas A. Cerretani & his wife Donna of Melrose, Peter Cerretani & his wife Lynn of Salem, NH, Kevin J. Cerretani & his wife Molly of Haymarket, Virginia, Mark J. Cerretani & his wife Kathleen of Winter Springs, FL, Trish Bourne & her husband Jim of Tewksbury & Jeffrey J. Cerretani of Melrose. Also survived by 20 nieces, nephews & 4 great nieces & great nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, January 3rd at 9AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Family & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday, January 2nd from 2-6PM.
