John Francis Costello Jr. passed away at his home in Phoenix, AZ on Friday July 11, 2008. He was 54 years of age. John was born in Somerville on July 1, 1954 to the late John & Eleanor (Doran) Costello; he was raised in Malden and graduated from the Northeast Regional Vocational School of Wakefield. He lived most of his life in Malden and the past 10 years in Arizona. He was a mechanic, loved the outdoors, fishing, riding all terrain vehicles and was an avid Celtics fan. He was the former husband of Dawn M. (Ford) Brooks. Father of Erick Costello, Paul Costello, both of NH and Shannon Carroll of Stoneham. Brother of James Costello of Malden, Dianne Costello-Ford of Melrose, David Costello of Malden, Christine Kudlate of NC and the late Paul Costello. Grandfather of Seth Carroll & David Costello. Also survived a niece, Meghan Ford of Melrose. A funeral service will be held in the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, July 31st at 11AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, July 30th from 4-7 PM. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose.
